New tool for base metals: M150-T2-35

The new M150-T2-35 tool is an optional tool for titanium and cobalt chrome.

  • The tool improves the manufacturing of drill holes and makes very deep drill holes better than previous tools.

  • Together with the other improvements, this significantly increases the manufacturing quality of base metals.

You can use the tool with the following machines: K5, K5+, S1, S2, S5, S5m, R5.

Important: Fits in cobalt chrome and titanium are now manufactured larger by default. Recommendation: Check and correct the fit oversizes for cavities and drill holes for cobalt chrome and titanium.

Improvement of numerous manufacturing strategies

We have improved many manufacturing strategies. This increases the quality of surfaces and reduces the amount of residual material.

Improved anterior tooth editing

We have improved the surface quality of anterior tooth editing.

New blank types added

We have added to the material database.

For a list of all changes to the material database, see Release Notes: Material database.

New features and changes

VOCO Grandio disc: Individual machining and new roughing tool (increased process reliability)

The following changes increase process reliability:

  • For new installations, the parameter Tool usage sequence has been changed to Individual machining. For existing installations, change the parameter manually in the application settings if necessary. See Tool usage sequence.

  • The Z200-R3D-xx tool replaces theC200-R1D-xx tool for roughing.

Bug Fixes

  • When processing cobalt chrome with the M060-R2-xx tool type, surface defects could occur at the prep margin and in cavities. This behavior has been corrected.

  • When processing base metals with the M100-R2-xx tool type, tools could break. This behavior has been corrected.

  • When processing blanks made of base metal with a height of more than 18 mm, the spindle could collide with the blank. This behavior has been corrected.

  • Tools could break when roughing large objects in composites. This behavior has been corrected.

  • Drill hole geometries could show slight inaccuracies. This behavior has been corrected.

  • The spindle could collide with the blank if the drill holes were drilled at an angle. This behavior has been corrected.

  • The residual material display in ProfiCAD was not displayed. This behavior has been corrected.

Plus: Additional bug fixes, machining improvements and more
